Then there was 14....

So the more time that passes the more confused I am about this family. Why in the world would any single parent want 14 children. And why in the world would the parents of a single parent who all ready has SIX children let her get IVF AGAIN! I am so so for people having children any way they can, even as a single parent. But to me a responsible parent is one who has only the amount of children that they can afford and care for without expecting assistance from others.

With that being said, I know some families go into IVF expecting for it to not work and getting six, seven or eight. But then the responsibility is on the doctor to not let the parents have that many embryos implanted to begin with. I feel so sad for these children. This woman wanted a lot of children because she was lonely as an only child but how lonely does she think the first six children are going to be now that there are 8 new ones to care for. Those first six are always going to be on the back burner.

I read about a lot of women who have trouble getting pregnant, staying pregnant or cannot carry their pregnancy to full term. These are the woman that need the communities support and time more than anyone. I cannot imagine how it feels to be a woman who cannot have a child. As a child, it is instilled in us that woman grow up, get married and have children. It makes me sad to think that while one woman seems to be exploiting the system, there are millions of woman around the world suffering.


On another note...I have been reading www.mattlogelin.com and that man is SO amazing! I really admire him and his family. His daughter Madeline is so lucky to have a father that stood up in the face of a horrible tragedy and is raising his daughter the best he knows how. She is really lucky to have him as her father and to have a family that is so wonderul. And because I have been reading his blog so much, it has made me get back into photography a little. I was taking a ton of pics of the "kids" last night. Dublin LOVES being photographed, Bailey hates it and avoids looking at the camera, and Mickey walks away...except when I caught her on the stairs! I will post some pics soon!
